The Lower Currituck Mobile Food Drop
will be coming to the parking lot adjacent to Hardees in
Grandy, NC on the 3rd
Tuesday in September. The next drop is September 16,
2008 from 5:30 - 7:00 PM. Please visit our webpage for

Mt. Zion's 236th Homecoming will be Sunday, October
26th beginning at 10:30 AM. Our guest speaker will be Mr. Paul O'Briant, son of
one of our former ministers, the late Rev.
Clarence O'Briant. There will be joyful singing and wonderful opportunities to enjoy
fellowship with family and friends followed by a huge
pot-luck meal on the grounds. Make plans to come and
invite a friend!

An American Cancer
Society Support Group at Mt. Zion UMC offers a general
meeting for those affected by cancer to increase their
knowledge from speakers, facilitators, and other patients in
a safe and supportive environment. Meetings will be
held on 4th Tuesdays of each month
beginning at at 7 pm.

An American Red Cross Blood Drive was held July
22nd: from 3:30 - 7:30pm. Thanks to all volunteers and
donors for a successful drive. The next blood drive
will be announced when scheduled.

Vacation Bible School 2008
was an exciting ministry this year! We are
grateful for the many volunteers and donations to support
this special ministry. Thank you for your prayers,
presence, gifts, and service!

Usher Greeter Ministry -
Usher Greeters provide an important support ministry and
help to provide connections for visitors and new members.

Clean Sweep & Clean Cut Ministries - The Clean Sweep
and Clean Cut ministries are hands-on opportunities to serve
with other church members to clean our sanctuary and grounds
on a rotation bases. Please contact Bill Lovell or Wes
Liverman if you would like to join one or both of these
ministries.

"Love Bears for
Christ" ministry is growing while providing
gifts of comfort and love to children in need. Take a

Candle Burning for Missions
is sponsored by our UMW and continues through the year.

Kingdom Kids Learning Center
continues to provide excellent childcare services to the
community under the direction of Mrs. Debbie Smith. The KKLC
Board meets the last Tuesday
of each month. During the summer, Mt. Zion under KKLC
offers a Christian Summer Camp experience for children in
grades 1 - 6. Please contact Debbie at 453-4585 for
more information.

United Methodist Men & United Methodist Women
continue their monthly meetings in September after a summer
break. New members are encouraged to join. These
ministries meet at 7:00 pm on the
second Monday (UMW) or third Monday at 7 pm (UMM) each month to share a vision for
our church, support programming, and to help missions. All are
invited to join these organizations and/or begin other UMW/UMM
circles.

Mt. Zion Youth Fellowship meetings continue
twice a month in the Mt. Zion Youth Center next to the church.

Meals on Wheels - Volunteer to help provide a hot meal
to Currituck County shut-ins. Drivers are needed on Tuesdays at
the Powells Point Senior Center. See Pastor David if you can
help in this area.
