Is an integral part of The United Methodist Church and for more than 140 years has fostered spiritual growth, developing leaders and advocating for justice. Over a million members world-wide give nearly $20 million each year for programs and projects to benefit women, children and youth and is one of the largest mission organizations for women.
It’s Purpose . . .

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Responsibilities . . .

are to affirm and support the PURPOSE by participating through your prayers, financial contributions and support of the local, national and global mission outreach programs of United Methodist Women.
Membership . . .

is open to ANY WOMAN or TEEN who desires to join. Only the President must be a United Methodist.
dollars and cents - Microsoft Clipart Your Pledge to Mission . . .

You will be invited to make a yearly Pledge to Mission, the amount to be determined by YOU and is known only to the Treasurer. Mission giving is a high priority but not a requirement for membership. $8.75 of your pledge supports designated programs of our Conference which includes Blue Lake, A&MD, Dumas Wesley, Nellie Burge, Noah’s Ark, SKIP, Mobile Inner City Mission and Hispanic Ministries. The remainder of the Mission Giving funds are used by Women’s Division for programs and mission projects in the United States and in over 100 countries around the world.
How is a UMW Unit Organized . . .

  • A local group is called a UNIT which can also be divided into several circles.
  • The Unit is connected to the District,
  • the Conference,
  • the Jurisdiction and to the
  • Women’s Division of the General Board of Global Ministries.
  • Units can be a part of a local church, several small Churches combined, the District or at work places.
As a Member of the Online Unit you can . . .

  • Participate in the monthly Online meetings;
  • Invite prospective members to join;
  • Communicate with Online Unit members;
  • Participate in the Reading Program;
  • Join and utilize chat tools from Women’s Division UMW Online Community;
  • Initiate District and Local mission projects;
  • And much, much more.

  • Moss Hill Day Apart - April
  • School of Christian Mission -Blue Lake - July
  • District Annual Day - September
  • District Mission Studies - TBA

  • Any UMW general meetings at your local church.
WHAT IS AN ONLINE UNIT? . . .

Members participate in all of the activities of United Methodist Women (UMW) except that meetings are held Online. Correspondence is through e-mail and/or website and chat rooms. Initially, this will be a District Unit, but if there is sufficient interest, individual churches could establish Online Circles.
Pastors of churches in the Marianna-Panama City District that do not have UMW Units will be asked to encourage women to join the Online Unit.

A devotional message; the program; a Response Moment, monthly Prayer Calendar, Calendar of upcoming District, Conference Events, a book report… and much more
