The mission of our church is to establish the community of faith as a Christ centered church, to celebrate God's presence, to proclaim Jesus Christ, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope, to bear witness of the ongoing works of the Holy Spirit, to be obedient to the Word of the Lord, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to be useful and accessible to the local community and to establish God's righteousness on earth.
We believe that this will help you to understand our relationship to God.
Mowatt Memorial United Methodist Church belongs to the Washington-Columbia District of the Baltimore-Washington Conference (the BW Conference). The BW Conference is a part of the Northeast Jurisdictional Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Our main focus is to offer a loving, caring, supportive and nurturing environment for our church family and our community. Through Means of Grace, such as Worship and Prayer, Bible Study, and Service to the world, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Mowatt seeks the biblical, evangelical, healing, and spiritual community of faith, obtaining God's redemption and eternal life. We equip the disciple of Christ, bringing God's Reign and Kingdom on earth.
The Mowatt church was formed from a gathering of 10 people on Thursday 2 August 1945.
The current building was built in August of 1955. It was extended with the addition of the sanctuary in 1980.
