Children's Program
Here at Mt. Tam UMC we are dedicated to creating a loving, nurturing environment for children. From infants through fifth grade our children’s program provides many opportunities for fun, learning and growth.
Nursery Care
Mt. Tam provides this option for infants to age 3. Our nursery is equipped to provide fun while being safe! Our professional childcare provider, Romi Kanani, has been providing service to the church for many years and is fully licensed and CPR certified.
Sunday School Program
For preschool children through 5th grade: after the children’s message during the service, the children are invited to Sunday School. There are three age group divisions of classes. Each class has a dedicated and loving teacher. (The preschool class has a teacher and an adult assistant, as that age group requires more attention.)
Curriculum
At Mt. Tam UMC we use published curriculum that focuses on the love and acceptance that God gives freely to us through grace. We use Bible stories, music, art projects and open discussions as means to do this. 
Summer Program
A relaxed version of our Sunday School program: we come together for a one-room schoolhouse and provide a short lesson and craft options. Children also enjoy a bit more playtime, providing opportunity for children to build friendships. 
Annual Christmas Pageant
The children love to be part of this untraditional telling of the Christmas story. The message is profound, but the different stories are contemporary. For this service, our church is filled with children, families, music and cameras. Fun is had by all!
Christmas Eve Children’s Service
On Christmas Eve we offer a “wiggle” service. Here we tell the traditional story of the miraculous birth of baby Jesus.
Vacation Church Camp
Every Summer we offer a 3-day camp for kids preschool through 5th grade. The theme changes each summer, but the message is always one of love. Each day we learn through music, puppet shows, crafts, stories, games, snacks and more!
