Living out the Love of God made plain by JesusMission and Vision StatementsEmpowered by God's amazing grace and love, we seek to follow the teachings of Jesus and warmly invite others to join with us in the adventure. (Mission Statement) We will find bold and creative ways to reach out to our community. All people will find a hearty welcome and receive gracious hospitality. We will be a church of open hearts, open minds and open doors. We will be a healing community where hearts are mended and hope is reborn. Together we will laugh and cry, eat and play. We will pray for one another, forgive, challenge and love one another as Christ has loved us. We will not always agree on everything but we believe that we do not have to think alike to love alike. We will offer worship which nurtures the spirit and connects us with God and one another in transforming ways. Worship will be at the heart of our community and will impact all that we do together. We will always be open to new forms of worship. We will provide a variety of spiritual growth opportunities through classes, workshops, Bible studies, home gatherings and retreats. We will help equip people for their ministry in their everyday lives. We will enable folks to come to know and use their special gifts. We will deal with people's needs at all the stages of life's journey. We will have forums on community and world issues. We will encourage fellowship opportunities where we build community and help develop deep friendships and a sense of family across all the barriers which might separate us. We will have intergenerational events which are fun and engage long time members and attract new folks to our faith community. We will bring Christ's love into our world. We will work to eliminate discrimination, beginning with our own attitudes. We will work for peace and for social and economic justice. We will be strong supporters of our denominational mission programs and other similar programs. We will be a sending church with individuals and teams of people engaged in hands on ministry in the area and throughout the world. We will have a dynamic youth and children's ministry. Under our care young people will grow deep spiritual roots and claim enduring Christian values. Church will be exciting and meaningful for them and young disciples will find direction for their lives. We will strengthen families and assist parents, grandparents and mentors with their important roles. We will join together with other churches and faith communities to bring understanding among all people of good will and to work together on issues of common concern. We will be faithful stewards of our buildings and property. We will keep our buildings in excellent repair, and make our landscape attractive. We will seek to have our campus provide inspiration and reflect the spiritual nature of all that we do. We will encourage optimum usage by church and community groups. Our facilities will be accessible to persons with disabilities. We will build new buildings and improve land space as needs arise. We will have a strong and growing financial base that funds our mission. We will encourage tithing as a joyful response to God's love and as a sign of our commitment to the mission which God has given us. We will promote long range giving through our endowment board. We believe that God continues to be with us in wonderful ways and seeks to use this church family to work miracles in Marin and beyond. We believe in our future! (Jeremiah 29:11) Amen! |
