Living out the Love of God made plain by Jesus
All-Church Events
At Mt. Tam UMC, we have a number of annual “all-church” events throughout the year. These events include the participation of all ages. As with any event at Mt. Tam UMC, everyone is welcome and we encourage folks to invite their neighbors and friends.
Jerusalem Marketplace
Each year a week before Palm Sunday we go back in time to 29 A.D. The church fellowship hall becomes transformed to a marketplace like the ones Jesus would have visited. There are artifacts to explore, flat bread to bake, dreidel games, authentic food, dancing the hora, clay to mold, mezuzahs to paint and a few surprises like live animals.
All-church Retreat
Everyone is invited for this weekend get-away in the beautiful redwood trees up by the Russian River. We sing by the campfire, share meals together, pray and have fun during this wonderful weekend. There is plenty to do for adults and children of all ages (including childcare for little ones). Come and get to know each other better in this relaxed and gorgeous setting.
United Methodist Women’s Christmas Bazaar
The United Methodist Women invite you to this wonderful bazaar and luncheon filled with hand-made crafts and home-made goodies. All proceeds go to fund the many wonderful outreach projects that the UMW support both locally and globally.
Spring Outing
Each year we gather at the scenic Paradise Park for a fun picnic complete with barbeque, potato-sack races, water balloons, bocce ball and prizes for everyone.
Easter Egg Hunt
Though the egg hunt is for kids, the whole church enjoys watching!
Valentines Cakewalk and Fundraiser
The whole church gets out their baking pans and contributes cakes, pies and other goodies to donate to this event. There is an old-fashioned cakewalk and live pie auction. All proceeds go towards the mission project that year.
Parents Night Out
Movie, pizza, crafts and games, and plenty of adult supervision for the kids while parents enjoy a night off!
Heifer Christmas-card-making and Luncheon
Mt. Tam UMC holds many fundraisers to help support Heifer International (a non profit organization dedicated to ending hunger around the world by educating and providing people with the means to become self supportive). At this luncheon children and adults come together and design home-made artful Christmas cards to be sold a few weeks later.
