Living out the Love of God made plain by Jesus
Adult Classes

At Mt. Tam UMC there are both ongoing classes as well as one-time workshops designed to explore and deepen our faith. New folks are always welcome and encouraged to come. (Loving childcare available upon request.)
Disciple
Disciple is a thirty-four-week, in-depth study of scripture that moves through the Biblical story from Creation to the New Jerusalem. When taking the Disciple course, you are committing yourself to three to four hours each week of independent study and preparation, as well as two hours each week for a weekly group meeting. The Disciple program can: deepen faith,
vitalize worship, activate leadership, encourage stewardship, create fellowship, and, most of all, transform lives. "If you make my word your home, you will indeed be my disciples." John 8:31, The Jerusalem Bible

The Lunch Bunch
This is a wonderful time to come together with your faith questions, doubts and opinions. This group meets monthly and enjoys a meal out together while discussing an array of topics. Led by Rev. Betty Pagett, who brings a wealth of information and experience as a former pastor and seminary teacher.
Other Faiths
Exploring, understanding and appreciating other faiths. Throughout this past year we have looked briefly as an overview at other faiths. Usually held after church with a light lunch. This past year we looked at Sufism, a mystical and spiritual path, Judaism, and Islam. We look forward to more.
Parenting Classes
With so many parents of young children at our church, we decided to offer a class where parents could come together and share their many universal concerns. Marybeth McClure Marra, a marriage and family therapist, leads the class. She is an author and presenter specializing in relationship and parenting issues.
Seasonal Studies
Each year we hold Lenten and Advent classes along with special services for each.
