What Is
The Mountain Top Walk To Emmaus®?
The Mountain Top Walk to Emmaus®
is
a fun-filled, spirit-filled, 72-hour "short course" in Christianity. It
is our prayer that each participant will experience Christ in a very special
way during the weekend. It is a spiritual journey -- you will not
be required to bring walking shoes.
The purpose of the Mountain
Top Walk to Emmaus® is to revitalize local churches and serve local
communities by building individual Christian character and leadership.
The Mountain Top
Walk to Emmaus® is ecumenical and invites participants from all
Christian denominations. Our Board of Directors, Clergy Leaders and Team
Members are drawn from a cross section of Christian denominations.
The Walk to Emmaus®
should not be compared to a retreat. Retreats are usually annual events;
the Walk to Emmaus® is a spiritual journey that offers support
for participants long after the 72-hour event is over.
The Walk to Emmaus®
is not a church; it is a movement of spiritual renewal to build individual
commitment to serve Jesus Christ in His Body -- the Church...namely, your
Church.
The Mountain Top
Walk to Emmaus® is not a clergy-run event. It is led by lay people
serving Our Lord. During the three days, participants will hear and discuss
15 Christian talks, worship, pray, meditate and sing.
The Walk to Emmaus®
is not the only, nor does it claim to be the best, means of spiritual renewal.
But Emmaus® does offer a way to insure the fruits of the 72-hour
experience.
The Walk to Emmaus®
is not a secret society. We have no secrets... though we believe the Lord
has some surprises for participants. Any and all of your questions about
the Mountain Top Walk to Emmaus® will be answered completely
by your sponsor(s) or by e-mailing us your questions.
Emmaus® is not an
evangelistic outreach to non-Christians. The Walk to Emmaus® assumes
familiarity with the basics of the Christian faith and tries to build on
each person's positive relationship with their church.
