Children and Youth Ministry

Our church offers a wide range of programs for children and youth designed to increase their knowledge of the word of God and to promote growth and fellowship through their church family.  All church members who work with children are trained in Safe Sanctuaries guidelines and procedures to ensure the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of all our members, especially our children.

Children and Youth Sunday School

Middle and High School Youth

This class meets at the top of the stairs on the top floor. Teachers rotate amongst Dan and April Taylor, Pastor Dianne Johnston, and Gladys Miller. They are currently studying from a resource called UNfiltered.

Young Children

This group ranges from Kindergarten to Fifth graders, about five to ten years old. They meet on the top floor in the corner classroom. Donna Setser teaches, and is looking for someone interested in sharing a teaching rotation with her. They are currently studying Jesus in the New Testament.

Nursery

Our nursery service is always available during Sunday School and Morning Worship. During Sunday School, Leslie Cox, Pam Moser, and Leesa Brandon share a teaching rotation. Nursery usually ranges from ages six months to five years. Currently they are working on being friends, and learning that Jesus is their friend. During Worship, two trained, non-related nursery workers are present to care for small children in a safe, Christian environment.

Children's Time

Each Sunday during morning worship, young children are invited to the front of the church, for a brief message, prepared by one of our four volunteers. Our volunteer teachers work to prepare lessons that clearly illustrate some of the more complex ideas about God in kid-friendly language and activities.
