Woodland United Methodist Church finds itself
at the southern-most point of this four point charge. It is located at 302 East Main Street, Woodland, NC
(at the junction of Highway 35 and Highway 258).
The congregation of Woodland United Methodist Church began
meeting in 1885 as part of the Northampton Circuit with Reverend J. S. Wallace as pastor. The current sanctuary
is the third worship building that has housed this congregation, but contains the pews, lights, and stained glass
windows from the previous structure. The current sanctuary was built in 1982 with an educational wing attached.*
Having been blessed with the piano skills of a member of the community for part of the worship services, the congregation
has recently begun using electronic resources for the remainder of worship and for special services.
Average attendance in worship is 16.
A Senior Citizens Activity Group, as well as a base for Meals on Wheels, also make their homes at Woodland UMC.
