Youth Ministries

BRIDGE
The heart of our Youth program at Milford UMC is our youth fellowship group, which is known as BRIDGE. Our group’s name means:

Building Relationships In Discovering God’s Embrace”

This defines what we are all about – to provide a positive, loving, safe environment where we can have fun with each other, while learning about how to live our lives as Christians.

BRIDGE is an inclusive group that welcomes all Youth in grades 6 to 12. Our regular time to get together during the school year is on Sunday evenings from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. However, we also enjoy activities that take us to other places such as retreats, sledding, swimming, concerts, and other fun events. During the summer we also get together occasionally for some fun things!

We would love to have you visit with us, so we can get acquainted. Feel free to bring a friend! We are looking forward to meeting you!

EDUCATION
An important activity for all Christians is to continually expand our understanding of God’s presence in our lives and our world. At Milford UMC we have weekly classes for Middle School and High School students, which meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM. The classes use a variety of materials to support meaningful discussions about our faith. You are welcome to visit with us at any time!

MISSIONS / OUTREACH
Our Youth believe that actively living their faith takes them beyond the four walls of the church building. That outreach may involve an annual mission trip to Appalachia. It could involve projects to address hunger in our community. We even support a weekly get together on Thursday afternoons at Milford High School. This is how we extend our hand of love, friendship and faith to others!

Like Jesus, we accept children as they are –
not because of their appearance, or their athletic ability,
not because of their academic ability or how talented they are –
but because they are created in the image of God.
