Additional Service Details
- Children's Message - During the 9:30 Sunday Worship Service, Pastor Gregg Mayberry
will call all the children up to the altar for the Children's Message. This message
mirrors the message that will be presented later in the service for the adults, but will
be delivered in a manner in which children can understand and relate to. A unique experience for
children to hear the Lord's message. After the Children's Message, the children may be dismissed to
Children's Church or may return to the pews with their families.
- Children's Church - During the 10:30 (non Summer Hours) Sunday Worship Service, Children's Church services will be available
to those families that would like to use it.
- Sharing of Joys/Concerns are always a welcome part of each Sunday Service. Please inform
an usher, greeter or the pastor if you would like to make a private request.
- Baptism - The Sacrament of Baptism in the United Methodist Church is available freely to all
people of the congregation and community, infants, children and adults alike. It symbolizes our
entrance into the Christian family and is an indication that we believe in the grace of God.
In response to God's grace, we bind ourselves to him by promising to be faithful, or when infants
and children are baptized, parents covenant to nurture a child within the Christian faith.
The congregation always pledges their love and support of the Baptism.

- The Sacrament of Holy Communion is usually offered on the first Sunday of each month. Please check the
church calendar for verification of dates.
Holy Communion, also called the Eucharist, the Last Supper, and the Lord's Table, is the remembering and re-enactment
of the last meal of Jesus with his disciples in the upper room. In the bread and wine Christ is present to cleanse us
of sin, create us anew, draw us into the fellowship of the church, and strengthen us for the life of service. Wanting
to commend abstinence from alcohol as an appropriate witness of faith and to support those in recovery, MUMC uses
grape juice, rather than wine.
The Sacrament of Holy Communion in the United Methodist Church is open to all people, regardless of church
membership or affiliation. Children are always welcome to participate, under the guidance and direction of
their parents. Our pastor & designated assistants always administer the sacrament.
Persons receiving communion have a choice when receiving their piece of bread to either receive a personal cup serving of
grape juice or intinction (dipping the bread in a cup of wine). Worshippers are asked to come forward by ushers;
where they are then served. Worshippers may take a moment for private reflection at the altar before returning to the pews.
