Professional/Personal Information
I was born in Nyack, New York and I am the oldest of three daughters
born to Tom & Diane Zimmerman. I moved from New York to Michigan at
the age of five and have lived here since. First in Detroit, then
Milford for junior and senior high school, then Wixom as a newlywed,
and now in Highland for the past 16 years. I am married to Gregg Smith
and we have three 'awesome' kids - 16 year old Abigail, 13 year old Alexander
and 10 year old Andrew. I currently serve as the Christian Education Coordinator
on behalf of the Milford United Methodist Church, having received
a degree in Religious Education from
Tyndale College, and working as a pre-school teacher and children's
librarian in previous jobs.
I was hired by Milford United Methodist Church in May of 1998 and I am
thrilled to serve here, because I feel this is where God wants me to be -
and her family has become very involved in the church as well. I believe that
teaching children about the love of Jesus and guiding them toward a personal
relationship with Him is the most important thing we can do and has become my
life's calling from God. In my 'spare' time, I enjoy scrapbooking (a consultant
for Creative Memories), gardening, reading and baking. I bake regularly for the
Thursday Club at Milford High School, for various church programs and for many other
functions. Faith, family and friends are the most important things in the world to me,
and I feel richly blessed in all three.
