Providing quality Child Care on Miami Beach.

A letter from the new director of the Day Care

It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself to you.  My name is Angeline Dozier, I have been honored with the appointment as Director of St. John's Child Care Center.  It is uncanny because I attended St. John's church in Berlin, New Jersey, most of my life.  My uncle was an A.M.E. Church Bishop, of  New Jersey, New York, New England and the Caribbean areas for many years as well as a pastor for most of his life.  Consequently, my experience with the Methodist Church is quite extensive.
My professional experience encompasses over thirty years of working with children in pediatric nursing, child and adolescent crisis intervention, and child care service delivery.  Before relocating to South Florida, I was the Health Safety and Disability Manager for a Head Start Program which serviced fifty families and children .  Thirty four children were center based and sixteen were home based, or resided in family day care homes.  I followed twenty expectant mothers.  I also assisted in  the coordination of two benchmark proposals for Center expansions that were approved and implemented during my tenure.  My Administrative and Management background entails over twenty years of Organizational Development, Operations and Marketing for many Health Care agencies, including one of my own.  I've served as a community leader in my work with the Department of Health and Human Services, where I coordinated numerous health affairs and assisted in the formation of a City Health Department.  I believe strongly in Community Spirit and involvement to make positive changes, creating a higher quality of life.  As part of my dedication to this community, I've served on several Advisory Board's including the; Mayor's Advisory Board,  Mercy Health Plan, Healthy Mothers/Healthy Babies, Neonatal Consortium and the Learning Collaborative.
I was born the middle child in a large nuclear family of 7 girls and 1 boy.  My parents are devout Christian Church members, who instilled their biblical values in us at an early age.  These values have been my guide and strength, throughout my life.  It is with these truths of Love, Charity, Humility, and  Faith, that I embrace the congregation, children, families, and staff of St. John's Child Care Center.  I look forward to working together with you, as we walk hand in hand, into the next millennium.
