Word of God: Ezekiel

The Hebrew prophet Ezekiel was the “voice of the exile”, who foretold the destruction of Jerusalem. God, speaking through Ezekiel, then changed His message from one of coming destruction to one of hope and restoration.

“I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you on your own soil; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken and will act,” says the Lord. Ezekiel 37:14

The 7-8 Class and the Pre-K class will continue to meet as usual in their respective classrooms.

Classes run until approx. 11:15. If possible please wait for the Workshop leaders to dismiss the class.

Welcome to the sixth year of My Faith Center!

We have completed our four week review of the books of the Bible, and how the Bible has evolved over time. We will now explore one of the Old Testament prophets – Ezekiel. This unit will include the following workshops:

Moved by the Spirit: Mazes, wall-building, rhyming, and jump rope are among the options to actively explore Ezekiel’s story. Dance to the song “Dry Bones”.

Bible Bake Shoppe: Hear about Ezekiel’s call as a prophet. Make crepes as a reminder of the story, and multigrain bread to remember the hardship of exile.

Creation Station: Create pictures of Ezekiel’s visions using pastels.

Mary and Martha’s Bed & Breakfast: Hear Ezekiel’s story from an Israelite in exile and compare with the Hmong people of Laos. Create a Hmong story cloth.

Starting on November 22 nd we will begin to prepare for the Christmas season, with a combination of workshops, family worship, and pageant rehearsals. Check your My Faith Center calendars (ask Ed or Marilyn if you need one.)

Talk to the children who participate in these workshops. Hear and feel their enthusiasm. Please consider leading a workshop. A four week curriculum is provided by Christian Ed – the JOY is provided by the children. Workshops are posted in the hub and on the MFC web site - or just see Ed Holden or Marilyn Keurajian with any questions.

Please help make a difference in the lives of our children.
