CommitteesAudit - No Chair This group examines all the records of the church. These records include the records of the Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Trustees, Book of Remembrance, Scholarship Fund, Roger Sherman Flower Fund, Library Fund, Youth Group Fund, W omen's Christian Fellowship Fund and the Building Fund. The committee makes recommendations to safeguard the churches financial records, files an annual report and files an audit report for the year. Book of Remembrance - Marilyn Gerzabek This committee maintains and promotes memorials to the fund, whose expenditures are made with the approval of the Official Board. Care of Membership -Barbara Carlin These are the people who plan and carry out activities to further the growth and mission of the church. Committee activities include arranging "Fellowship" hour after Sunday service, working with the Red Cross on blood drives, pot luck meals, cards to shut-ins, friendship pads in the pews,Dial-a-Ride, and more. Christian Education - Kendra Smith A busy and devoted group, members work with the minister to coordinate the educational program of the church. They work with the Superintendent to coordinate programs such as children’s Christmas program and Special Emphasis Sundays. This committee is also involved in teacher recruitment,teacher breakfasts, curriculum review, church picnics, and planning other special events. Evangelism -Jo-Ann Halibozek This group is dedicated to helping our members share the gospel. They creatively seek new members for the church and renew the interest of inactive members to reconnect them to the church. Finance - John Lyman We could not survive without this group that plans and executes the fall pledge drive and other fund-raising activities and prepares a detailed budget for the fiscal year to present before the Official Board. Missions - Joyce Dowling Jesus calls us as Christians not to neglect the "weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faith." (Matthew 23:23). The goal of missions is to provide these things through witnessing, monetary collections, service projects and provisions of goods to those in need in our community and in the greater world. Nominating -Claudia White By phone and personal contact, this committee finds candidates to fill Official Board positions and the rosters of all of the church committees. Pastoral Relations -Jen Fowler This committee acts as a liaison between the pastor and the congregation, serving as a conduit for the people to comment on the ministry and a sounding board for the pastor. The committee and pastor work together to promote the spiritual well being of the church. Property - Michael Satagaj From painting to plumbing, from the parsonage to the Education Building, this hardy group supervises the operation of the grounds, buildings, and other facilities, and all their maintenance. Worship -Sue VanDerzee This committee's very important task is to help make worship meaningful to all of us. This group not only prepares the sanctuary and participants for services by recruiting ushers,readers, servers, and flowers, but also strives to discern and develop a vision of what we can do to deepen our faith through our worship experiences. |
