What is Taking Time with God?

Taking Time with God is pretty much what it sounds like. It is an opportunity to take time out of your day to spend with God. Many people benefit from an accountable, disciplined approach to personal prayer and Bible reading. Let’s face it, it doesn’t come easily to all of us! Taking Time with God is a resource to enable such a helpful approach. It can be utilized individually or in covenant with others for even greater accountability.

 

How do I Take Time with God?

Taking Time with God is intended to be a daily approach to Bible reading and prayer.

 

The first step is to pick a time. Are you a morning person or an evening person? Or is your most productive time in the middle of the day? Whatever time you are at your best is the best time commit to this study. It doesn’t help you if you can’t stay awake through your time with God!

 

Next, choose Bible reading plan. There are three different Bible reading plans located in the back of this book. I tried to choose a variety of plans with a different emphasis. Other plans are also available on-line or included in many Bibles. If you are up for it, there are many plans available that will have you red through the Bible in one year, but they are not for the faint of heart!

 

Then, each day, read the scripture passage from your Bible plan and follow the SOAP
