WELCOME
to the Metropolitan District!
The Metropolitan District of the United Methodist Church
includes the New York City boroughs of Manhattan, Staten Island and the Bronx, and
Westchester County. We are 78 United Methodist congregations,
multi-cultural and multi-racial, with varying worship styles and
cultural emphases. We are 73 United Methodist congregations united in our commitment
to be seekers of God in our daily lives, to be followers of the way of
living set before us in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, and to
be agents of justice and reconciliation and hope in our world through
the power of the Holy Spirit.
We welcome you most warmly to our churches and believe that you will surely
find that for which you are searching as you are among us! As you travel
our streets and byways, you will find a United Methodist congregation
almost anywhere. We worship in Cantonese, English, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin,
Spanish and Twi. We’re people who worship and study and pray together;
who build bonds of
community; who are involved in Outreach and Mission—people who care
about each other, our communities, our world.
Whether you are visiting the metropolitan area or making your home here,
we hope you will find a church home among us. If you would like help in
locating a church, visit our directory or contact us at mnnyac@aol.com
Welcome!!!
