REFLECTION: How many new members did your church gain in 2005? Is evangelism a priority in your church? Is there a strategy to integrate new members into the life of the church?
ACTION: Review your church’s history of membership gains and losses for the last 5 years. Be reminded of the Great Commission given by Jesus to his disciples in Mathew 28: 16-20. Discuss its implication for your church “at such a time as this.” Ensure that your church provides an atmosphere that encourages the members to share their faith. Visit the General Board of Discipleship website (www.gbod.org) for helpful ideas and resources on evangelism.
