WITHIN THE CHURCH

 Methodist Women's Fellowship

The Island Council. has continued in its role of coordinating the work of the Methodist Women's FellowshipGroups island wide and relevant information has always been disseminated through the Districts. The council met 4 times during the year under review.

An intensive study needs to be carried out on the new constitution and it is essential that MWFs be made aware of the clauses contained therein. Awareness programmes on the constitution as local must be embarked upon to ensure its implementation.

North and East District  :  The MWFs of this District perform satisfactorily as they contribute to the welfare of the church in no small way.  They have launched out with renewed strength and determination visiting prisons, hospitals and the house bound in their homes in an attempt to comfort and console those affected by the conflict..

Southern District  :

two one day programmes - one for the Negombo area and the other for the southern are were suffessfully organised with the latter being arranged to revive the women's work in the Matara area. Support  for this venture was received from the Moratuwa and Panadura areas
