were approved.
PUBLIC/CONGREGATION
COMMENTS:
Joe Hockersmith stated that he had received oral comments from one person and that he told the person that the comments should be put in writing and given to the Building Committee. Joe asked Howard how these comments would be handled. Howard replied that all information of this nature would be gathered and given to the Building Firm that is chosen to do the work.
Howard received an oral
comment about the safety of proper handrails for people using canes. Handrails should be more functional than
decorative.
OLD BUSINESS:
Requirements Lists
Having no comments or thoughts on Finalizing Courtyard/Atrium/Evangel Center, this subject was tabled for future discussion.
Interview Date - Schedule
Firms
Howard
informed the committee that Interviews with the three firms are scheduled for

2:30 Brechbill
& Helman
4:00 Campbell

Interview Tool and Process
References
provided by each of the three firms were contacted by Rod Shaffer and this
reference information will be provided to each Committee Member following the
interviews. These comments then will be
incorporated with scoring the interviews.
Marlin
Johnson indicated to Howard his desire to be present at the interviews. The Committee agreed that this would be acceptable
but that Marlin would not score the interviews unless he is available
for all three interviews.
Howard
forwarded to the Committee a copy of the REVISED (3-16-07) version of the
Rating Tool. Howard then informed the
Committee that only the questions on the Interview Form could be asked of each
of the firms. Nothing additional can be
asked unless it is to clarify the original question. Howard then reviewed each of the questions
with the Committee.
During
discussion of each of the questions, it was determined that Question 8 could be
deleted and, therefore, Howard will be distributing a corrected form to
Committee Members.
Howard
made a recommendation that in scoring the interviews, it would be advisable to
score the first firm somewhere in the middle so as to allow space in scoring
the following two firms at a lower or higher rate.
NEW BUSINESS:
Legal Counsel
Howard
shared that he was advised by Council that David Perkins would serve as our
Legal Counsel for review of the Contract signing.
Howard
also shared that he asked Council about errors and Omissions insurance coverage
for the Building Committee. He received
a contact name with whom he needs to follow-up.
Joe Hockersmith inquired about what was meant by errors and omissions
coverage. Howard explained that it is
coverage for members of the Building Committee.
Howard
said that he went on the tour of
Kevin
Plasterer distributed a preliminary unofficial drawing of the kitchen area that
had been completed by Johnnie’s Restaurant & Hotel Services. Discussion followed and it was determined
that the ladies who are most often in charge of the kitchen should have input
regarding the necessities of the kitchen.
Discussion ensued regarding the status of Church Kitchen Committee. BJ noted that this Committee is more informal
in nature, and largely consists of 2 active members. BJ will share copies of the sketches to
Pauline Hinkle and Merry Jean Beres to review and provide input. She will emphasize to these ladies that the
drawing is UNOFFICIAL and is not what has been projected.
Nothing
to report.
