Journal - Day 8   6/22/09

"Has a week really gone by already? It is hard to believe.

This was a work day, all day. We got most of the first level of bricks done on the kitchen and we dug dirt and added it inside the walls to level out the floor. It was a hot, humid day and we worked hard, but so did the residents. When we were done, lots of pictures and long goodbyes. 

We came back to MEFEL for quick showers and then back on the bus to eat traditional Nicaraguan food at Donna Hayde's. We finally got the opportunity to meet Cheryl Avery, founder and executive director of the project.

It will be a short night of sleep as we are up at 4:30 to go to the airport."  Jim
