"Another day is done and boy are we tired!
Today was a work day, all day. We arrived at the project at about 10:00 am and really began building a building. So far we had only worked on footers and foundation stones. Today two walls began to rise up from the ground. This first level will be capped off with a level of
rebar and mortar, and will also serve as the lower sill for the windows (wherever windows will be). When we left the first level of three layers of bricks were done on two of the walls, and all of the foundation was completed.
No rains today... Some one suggested that I really need to describe what we mean when we say it rains here. The sun will be out and everything will be perfect and nice. And then, the clouds will begin to form... not over a long time, but in about 45 minutes. Soon after the clouds are billowing, the wind will come, maybe five minutes before the first drops. The first several drops are gentle, but then it pours. And it pours. And it pours. For about 20 minutes, hard, heavy, warm rain. We could shower in it if we had only remembered the soap! (Oh well) And then it will rain lightly for another hour, maybe two... And then it is done, only to happen all over again the next day!
A few pictures from the worksite to enjoy... No more work until Monday.
