2008-2009 Mission Projects
Mays Chapel supports a wide variety of mission projects throughout
the year, both in our local region and around the world. We focus
on a different project every month, and additionally collect non-perishable food
throughout the year.
July 2008
Baltimore
County Christian Work Camp
In the summer we support this mission which provides home repair &
assistance for limited income families who are ill, elderly or in need.
August 2008
Carpenter's Kitchen
We collect food for this local soup kitchen, and also donate time to
help serve meals.
September 2008
College student and soldier gifting
Supplies are donated so that Carol Prince's special cookies can be
made and mailed throughout the year to our members and friends who are
away at college or on active duty in the military.
October 2008
Trick or Treat so Others May Eat
Our youth collect canned & non-perishable food from the local
community and neighborhood.
Baltimore County Crop Hunger Walk
We raise money & awareness for hunger by walking the NCR trail.
Donations support local, national &
worldwide food programs.
November 2008
Thanksgiving Baskets
We collect overflowing baskets of food, items &
grocery store certificates to help two families celebrate Thanksgiving,
who would otherwise not be able to do so.
December 2008
Christmas Baskets
We collect overflowing baskets of food, items & grocery store
certificates to help one family celebrate Christmas,
who would otherwise not be able to do so.
Board of Child Care
Providing Christmas presents &
goodies for children currently cared for at the Baltimore Board of Child
Care.
January 2009
Super Bowl Subs
Our youth make and sell subs to be delivered for Super Bowl Sunday.
February 2009
UCAN Sunday
We have a special collection to support the work of the United Churches
Assistance Network in Northern Baltimore, which offers emergency support
services and financial assistance to families in our community.
