Our Vision
is:
- to grow in
Christian faith,
- to be a
caring and giving community of believers,
- to share our
God given gifts and talents,
- to invite
people into a relationship with God and
Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit,
- to be
responsible stewards of all God's
creation and,
- to express
the love of God through our every action.
Our Mission
is:
To grow in faithfulness to God, to serve as
disciples of Christ in the world and to bring
others into discipleship.
Our Values
are:
Jesus said "You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart, and with all your soul and
with all your mind. This is the greatest and
first commandment. And a second is like it: You
shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Matthew 22:37-39 NRSV
We believe that faithfully living out these
commandments will bring us ever closer to
fulfilling the will of God. We call upon each
individual in our congregation to live these
commandments daily. As part of the body of Christ
we shall use the Great Commandments of Jesus as
the "yardstick" against which all
church decisions are measured. All aspects of
church life and future planning will demonstrate
our faithfulness to these commandments.
Outreach -
Helping others in need and spreading the Gospel
through word and service:
Reaching out to our sisters and brothers is a
major part of our calling as Christians. We reach
out to help them -- when they face disasters,
like the 1998 ice storm in the North Country;
when they are hungry, like the many poor children
here and around the world; when they are in
prison, as so many are in our country today; when
they need help, as they grow old or become
homebound. There are many calls for our various
talents and services.
Also we are called to spread the gospel of Jesus.
In addition to evangelism provided by our regular
services and programs, our Outreach goes out to
the unchurched and the struggling in our country,
as in many inner cities or Indian reservations,
and those elsewhere who, thirsting for faith,
would respond to the call of the Lord. We invite
all who feel a call or want to serve in outreach
to join us in our committed work.
