Methodist Church Home for the Aged

History

For over 157 years, the Methodist Church Home for the Aged has provided comfort, care, and compassion to the thousands of elderly Residents who have called it home.  More than a nursing home, the Methodist Church Home for the Aged is a full-fledged long-term care facility, offering expert, personalized clinical care in an environment of warmth and hospitality.  The seven Methodist women who conceived the Home in 1850 as a shelter for aging individuals could not have predicted the extent to which their dream would be realized, nor could they have envisioned the impact the Home would have within the community.

The Home Today is situated in the beautiful community of Riverdale, on a tree-covered hill, in an atmosphere of safety, security, and solace. This atmosphere is enhanced by the fact that each Resident has a private room and toilet facility. Additionally, breathtaking views of a charming formal garden contribute to the unique ambiance of the Home. The formal dining room, where Residents enjoy their meals, adds to the overall sense that the Methodist Church Home for the Aged is indeed a home, not an institution.
