The McConnell chapter of the United Methodist Women would like to invite you to join us for our meetings and mission projects we do throughout the area.
The UMW of McConnell meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 1:30 pm. We normally meet at the church unless we have a special program or event at another location. We boast a membership of 15 ladies, but there is always room for more!
Some of the missions and ministries that UMW is active in:
- Adopt a local needy family each Christmas season and purchase gifts for them
-Collect food for the local food pantry
-Set up a hat and mitten Christmas tree for our church family and the community to donate winter clothing and hang on its branches. We then donate the items to local needy families
-Box and deliver food/snack boxes to some of our local men and women serving overseas in our armed forces. We sent over 10 packages so far.
-Several times each year we make plates of cookies that we then deliver to local shut-ins or ill persons
- Our Sunshine Chairman sends birthday cards, etc. to those who may need some spiritual uplifting.
Events the McConnell UMW sponsor:
- Annual Mother-Daughter-Sister-Friend Banquet each May
- Annual June Luncheon
- Euchre Card Parties - 2nd Friday night of each month - $2.00
- Nursing Home Birthday Parties
- Out-to-Lunch meetings each year
-Serve luncheons after funerals our church holds
