Ham and Oyster Dinner

The Ham and Oyster dinner will held March 11, 2006 from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Adults, $16.00 Children under 12, $8.00.

Please assist us in the preparation work. Please deliver your donations to the church kitchen Friday evening or early Saturday. If you are donating a ham and it needs to be cooked, please have it to the kitchen by Friday or no later than 8:00 a.m. Saturday. Also, if you can help by assisting the day of the dinner, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Easter Flower Orders

The deadline for flower orders is April 2, 2006. Lilies and white or pink azaleas are available for ordering. Please submit your orders to the church office or e-mail at mayoumc@aol.com. Also let us know if your plants will require "plant sitting" if you are away or if you would like to donate the flowers to the church garden.

Appalachia Service Project

This year Diana Nunan will be leading some of our church members on a mission trip through the Appalachia Service Project (ASP). The Appalachia Service Project is a home repair ministry through which volunteers and staff repair homes for low income families in rural Central Appalachia. Their goal is to make homes warmer, safer and drier, while offering transformational experiences for volunteers and families alike. Diana is hoping to take a crew of 6 or 7 people to West Virginia in June of this year. She is asking that as a congregation we pray about how we can help to finance this trip. Through our service and support we can really make a difference in the lives of the people in Mercer County, WVA and also in the lives of the people who go to help.

Confirmation Class

Classes will start soon those 6th grade and up wishing to participate. A Confirmation celebration will take place on the Day of Pentecost, Sunday, June 4. Questions? Parents and young people can remain after church for a brief meeting Sunday February 12, or you can pick up a form to fill out and leave with Betty. The form will ask for your day and time preference in scheduling 8 sessions before confirmation.
