Chapel Gallery Information for Artists
and
Interested Others
This is our Church's mission
statement, and artists should be mindful of it when submitting works
for
possible display in the Chapel Gallery. Artists
wishing to exhibit their works in the Chapel Gallery should submit
either
reproductions or slides of their art works to the MSUMC Committee on
Ministries
to the City and the Arts for consideration. They should also submit a
one-page
description of why the exhibit of their art works is particularly
appropriate
for the Chapel Gallery. (For example, we do not typically exhibit nude
subject
matter.) The submission of a resume is optional. Submission dates are March 1
and September 1. At the request of the Committee, artists may be asked
to meet
with the Committee with samples of their works. Artists will be notified in
writing by the Committee of acceptance of their art works for exhibit
in the
Chapel Gallery. Schedules for exhibition hanging, opening, and closing
will be
arranged jointly by the artist and the Committee. If the art work is to be
sold, the Church will cooperate with the artist to post the prices and
the
names of the pieces. All money from sales goes to the artist. Donations
to the
Church will be gratefully accepted. Thank you for
considering the
Chapel Gallery as an exhibition space for your art work. We hope that
both our
needs and yours can be satisfied in a fruitful partnership. May the
grace of
God be with you!
