What a wonderful Rummage Sale we had this past month!

We made over $2,000.00!!!  We could not have done it without the wonderful help of all the volunteers.  Whether you set up, sorted, stacked, swept, sold, priced, potted, packed, folded (and refolded), donated (and donated some more!), categorized, baked, bagged, made change, made coffee (and more coffee), wiped, worried, worked one day or more days, or whatever you contributed, each and every one of you were all a very valuable asset to the Rummage Sale and it definitely could not have been done without each and every one of you!!!

UMCOR EMERGENCY KITS

The UMW have been preparing and sending emergency kits to UMCOR for almost ten years. This year there is an urgent need for School Kits and Health Kits. The UMW and Outreach Committee have taken on this worthy project. They need your help to collect supplies for both kits. Items can be dropped off at the church office, please make sure you put note on items ‘kits’.

Health Kits provide basic necessities to people who have been forced to leave their homes because of human conflict or natural disaster. They are also used to teach personal hygiene, which encourages improved health.
Items needed: hand towels (no larger than 17”x 27”), washcloths, combs (large and sturdy, not pocket size), nail file or nail clippers (no emery boards or toenail clippers), bath-size soaps, toothbrushes (single, must be in original wrapper), large toothpaste (expiration date must be 6 months or longer due to shipping dates), adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages. If you wish to make up a whole kit wrap items inside hand towel, wrap with yarn or string and place inside sealed one-gallon plastic bag. Thank you.

School Kits go to children who do not have school supplies. They may not even have a classroom or they may be inadequate. These kits may be the children’s only educational resource!
Items needed: 1 pair blunt, rounded tip scissors, 2 pads (or loose leaf) 81/2”x11” ruled paper, 1 30 centimeter ruler, 1 hand-held pencil sharpener, 6 unsharpened pencils with erasers, 1 eraser (21/2”), 12 sheets varied colored construction paper, 1 box crayons (24 size only!).

Please do not add extra items to either kit as they will be unusable. Do not add any religious, political or patriotic notes or emblems in any kit. Thank you for your donations, you really do make a difference in people’s lives!
