Sunday Morning Worship
Our blended style of worship begins
at 9:00 A.M. with a time of Praise and Worship choruses led by our Worship
Team. Our service is enhanced by traditional congregational
hymns, Scripture readings, regular special music, and the Proclamation
of God's Word.
An adult superivised nursery is
provided for children under the age of 7 years.
Sunday School
Education of our Christian life
assures that the Christian is in constant growth. The Martinsville
United Methodist Church offers Sunday School classes for all ages following
the Morning Worship.
Keys To Heaven
Join us Sunday nights from
6:30 - 8:30 P.M. for our newest ministy. We have three computers
with a variety of programs including Bible software to aide personal Bible
study and research, word processor, problem solving games and Bible games.
We also have an Internet simulator which allows the user to familiarize themselves with aspects of the Internet without the risks of actually logging on to the Internet, while learning more about the Bible.
In addtion to the computers, we
offer Christian videos, weekly devotions, Bible quizzes and refreshments.
Craft Group
If you enjoy working with your
hands, you may find a place in our Tuesday morning Craft Group at 9:30
A.M. Our crafters prepare handmade items for our fall bazaar sponsored
by the United Methodist Women, enjoy quilting prepared quilt tops and also
make benevolent gifts for outreach and missional ministries.
Bible Study
Studying the Word of God reinforces
our Christian faith in an ever pressing world. Our Wednesday morning
Bible study meets at 9:30 A.M. each week to enhance one's personal study.
Our Bible study encourges group discussion of a selected passage of the
Scripture. Amount of Scripture covered vaires slightly to allow each
participant to absorb as much as possible of the pasage. Christian
fellowship and praying for individual and group prayer requests enhances
the time for all who attend.
Prayer Group
Our prayer group begins at 5:30
P.M. on Wednesday evenings with a time of singing and praising God.
Individual prayer requests are shared and those who feel led by the Spirit
of God are encouraged to lead out in prayer.
Choir Practice
The Martinsville United Methodist
Church is blessed with a four-part choir which performs on a regular basis
for Morning Worship and other special services. The choir pracitices
on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 P.M. and dismisses during the summer.
