Very early in the planning process staff must give serious consideration to establishing goals for the VBS program.
  • What objectives must be met if the program is to be considered a success?
  • Who do you expect to participate -- children at what ages?; youth; family units
  • Is God calling you to reach out in a new way to a new segment of the community?
  • Are you planning a week to enrich the church children's understanding of the Bible?
  • Is the program to be an outreach to the community?
Discussion of these issues in advance allows teachers and staff to work together with a common understanding.
