Welcome to the Marion
District of United Methodist Women! The Marion District is one of 15 districts in the Western North Carolina Conference UMW. This district encompasses the beautiful Western North Carolina counties of Avery, Burke, McDowell, Mitchell, and Rutherford, as well as a bit of Cleveland and Polk. Within the district are 64 units of UMW and 1,726 members in the various local United Methodist churches. UMW Purpose The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. |
