For those looking to volunteer their time and talents for the church, there are many opportunities to serve. We can always use more help and it is a good way to get to know others from the church and community. Choir The choir practices Wednesdays at 4:00pm. Marguerite Lincoln leads the choir. Contact her if you are interested in joining. Sunday School Teachers and Release Time Teachers If you enjoy working with children, this is a worthwhile activity to get involved in. No teaching experience is necessary, just the desire to help children learn about God. Sunday School is taught Sundays at 9:30am. We are in a cooperative program with the Presbyterian church. Release Time begins October 9 and is a religious education program for elementary students in grades K-6. Students are released from school early and go to church for about an hour before going back to school to catch their bus home. United Methodist Women Music and Worship Committee This newly created committee works to ensure that Sunday services are always fresh and entertaining. The committee meets to discuss new music, new worship formats, and special guests. Please contact Pastor Gene (849-3345) if you are interested. Fundraising Committee This newly created committee develops a yearly fundraising calendar and holds monthly fundraisers to benefit the church. Currently, we are raising funds towards replacement of our roof. Newsletter Committee We currently publish a monthly newsletter. Four volunteers are needed each month to fold, stuff, and mail newsletters. Phyllis Jensen is in charge of newsletter distribution. Contact her at 849-3345. Community Barrel Each month we select a family to receive donations from our community barrel collection (link). If you have a vehicle and would like to deliver the items we collect to a needy family, please contact Duke Watros (849-6775).
