Sunday School: There are classes for all ages from infants through adults.

The Children’s areas have an emphasis upon providing an atmosphere where love and support are present, so the children not only learn about The Bible and God’s love but also experience it.

The Youth area has a focus upon helping them understand their growth changes, how God is part of their lives and activities in a busy and confusing world.

The Adult area has a focus upon helping each person encounter his or her faith. The teaching methods used work to encourage growth, openness and support as we are challenged to look at issues and topics. We understand that we are all on the journey of faith together.

Sunday School Classes and teachers:
  • 2nd Grade and younger: Renee McDonough, Hope Watkins and Julia Schaffner
  • 3rd-8th Grade: Courtney Stotler, Sue Baskett, Dustin Ward and Kathy Schmid
  • High School: Jan Harsh
  • Adult: “The Gathering Place” (members take turns leading). A place to explore and discuss spiritual issues and ideas. Downstairs, every Sunday morning. Drop in any time between 9:45AM and 10:30AM. Join us for light refreshments and lively conversation. (Note that this is not connected in any way with “The Gathering United Methodist Church,” located at 2105 McCausland Ave., because we were using the name first.)
  • Adult: Fellowship and conversation at CooperElla Cafe, 7401 Hazel Ave. @ Sutton Blvd. (2 blocks north of Maplewood UMC).
