Open Gym Tuesdays

 

All kids are welcome to join us for the Open Gym Tuesday program that meets each Tuesday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.  September through May. Kids can play numerous sports and activities and have a healthy snack that is provided for them. Adults who enjoy working with kids in sports related activities supervise the Open Gym Tuesday. To register your child in this program, please call the church office or simply attend the next Open Gym Tuesday.

 

After School @ Maple Ave

 

The Tutoring Program titled “After School @ Maple Ave.” is a program designed to aid students, grades 1 – 5, in learning basic Math, Spelling, Grammar, Social Studies, and Computer skills needed for a more successful educational experience. Tutors volunteer their time each Monday and/or Wednesday from 3 – 4 p.m., where they will spend the hour working on their skills. This program is in conjunction with Ouabache Elementary School. To volunteer as a tutor or register your child in the program, please call the church office.

 

GED & Adult Basic Education

 

Maple Avenue UMC offers ABE and GED classes on Wednesday 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. from September through June. Retired teacher Mr. Ron Wright conducts the ABE and GED class.  Anyone wishing to enroll in the free GED class or Adult Basic Education should call and make an appointment with the instructor by calling the church office.

 

Maple Avenue Community Children’s Choir

 

The Maple Ave. Community Children Choir is open to children in the community whose ages range from 8 – 15. The choir performs a Christmas Concert and a Spring Concert as well as making several community performances throughout the year. The choir meets each Thursday from September through May. The rehearsals are located in the Maple Ave. Choir Room from 3:45 to 5:00 p.m. with the doors opening at 2:45 p.m. For more information or to register your child, please contact the church office.
