Our Pastor

Welcome!

Grace and Peace to you from Christ our Lord! We are a congregation of around 40 members located in the village of Maple Rapids, a small community popular with hunters and fishermen. We enjoy worshipping our Lord on Sunday mornings at 9:30 with a variety of music styles. Hearing God speak through the Scriptures is the focal point of each Sunday, with music and sermon reflecting on the readings of the day. The other six days of the week we live out our faith in Christ through a variety of activities both together and individually. Click around our web site and see what we're doing--and join us next Sunday to praise our great God!

We have a dedicated congregation with ages ranging from 5 to (over) 85, including retirees, blue- and white-collar workers, small business owners, and a lively group of children. A relatively large number of widows provide support for each other and inspiration to the rest of our members by their active love for God. We share a desire to grow in our relationship to Jesus Christ and to see God work through our congregation in exciting ways.

Our building is located at 330 Maple Street (the north/south main street) in Maple Rapids, Michigan. Maple Rapids is located about 6 miles west of US-27 on Maple Rapids Road. (Maple Rapids Road crosses US-27 just north of Beck's Farm Market, north of Saint Johns).

Our Mission

Our mission is to follow Jesus Christ's call:

to love God with all that we have,
through Spirit-filled worship that is accessible to all;
to love our neighbors as ourselves,
by ensuring that no one need go cold or hungry in our community;
to love one another as Jesus loved us,
by accepting each other as sinners beloved by God;
to grow in our obedience to Christ,
by learning to speak the truth in love to one another;
and to spread the good news of God's love,
through proclaiming salvation in Jesus Christ, both in word and in deed.
