Ministry Opportunities and Descriptions

Mannsville has a variety of ministries. Take advantage of as many as you can. We invite you to get involved and serve the Lord in ways that best use the gifts He has given you.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for the following:

Virginia Holt's brother (cancer), Heather Wilson (undiagnosed illness), Shirley Baldwin & family (father's death), Chandler Franklin (illness), Ms. Dabney (illness), Beverly Mings' sister (illness), Margaret Cox (illness), Renae Perry (Emmaus Walk), Rev. Chandler Ford (death of wife, Marie)

Children's Church

Children learn at their own pace, and learn worship different from adults. Children's church is designed for children to learn about, and actually participate in, worship at a level they can understand. Each week the teachers involve the children in activities that teach them about a different aspect of worship. Through this program our children will grow to enjoy worshiping the Lord.

Young Disciples

Each Wednesday at 7 children from 0 - 12th grade participate in Bible studies which show how the Bible applies to their situation. The children and youth are taught the basics of Christianity and are encouraged to develop a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Small Groups

Several small groups meet throughout the week. Each one sets its own time, meeting place, and topic of discussion. Each group is lead by a trained lay pastor. The purposes of these groups are to provide fellowship, study of the Bible with life-application, prayer support, and a place to share the ups and downs of being a Christian. These groups are open to anyone, regardless of whether you are a member of our church or not, even if you are not a Christian. These groups also provide safe places to learn about Christianity for the person not sure about going to Church.

Sunday Night Studies

Each Sunday night at 7 a study is held with the purpose of helping Christians learn more about their faith. Topics include: How do I study my Bible? How do I share my faith? What do Christians believe? What do United Methodists believe? Intensive studies are also done of different books of the Bible. Check the church calendar for the current topic.

Worship Celebration

There are many ways to get involved with our Sunday morning service. We need people who can sing for the choir and praise team, people who wish to try acting for the drama team (even if you have no experience), and people who play instruments. If you have a talent you wish to share please let us know.

Sunday School

There are Sunday School classes for all ages. Some meet regardless of age based on a subject, and some meet based upon age-grouping. Please come and find the class right for you. We are also always on the look-out for people interested in teaching.
