The really good news is that Jerry Harrow will prepare his famous full-course hot breakfast for UMM again this year. You will remember the delicious, hearty and varied menus he served last year – even better this year! This is a way for you to start a Saturday morning in grand style while enjoying a warm fellowship.
Plan to attend the next meeting on Saturday, October 3. New member Andy Manvell will discuss his passion for woodworking. The program will also include recognition and appreciation of Don Burley and David Eherenman for their years of service to Methodist Men as President and Treasurer. In addition, you will receive your membership card and a brief review of the opportunities for service to the ministries of Main Street Church through your participation in UMM.
If you are on the UMM calling list, we will call you a few days ahead to reserve your seat at the breakfast table. If you have not been called previously, pleased tell the church office at 882-3361 that you will attend.
The United Methodist Men's group meets the first Saturday of each month, except during the summer, for a fellowship breakfast. Meetings are at 8:30 in the vestry, and feature guest speakers and discussions. Programs are responsive to group concerns and cover a broad spectrum, from spiritual growth to youth outreach to small business ethics and marketing. Speakers have included members of the group, state legislators and members of local government, business, professions and social service organizations.
We welcome all men of Main Street Church, plus guests. You are cordially invited to participate in the fellowship breakfast meetings and other ongoing activities. Presently, we sponsor Boy Scout Troop 6, and support camper scholarships and other church programs and benevolences by raising funds through the annual golf outing.
