Confirmation Classes

Confirmation classes are offered annually for youth in 7th-9th grade. Classes are led by the pastor and Director of Christian Education. When needed, classes are also offered for older youth.

Classes prepare youth to confirm their faith in Jesus Christ and to become members of the church. Classes for the 7th-9th graders typically meet for 1 1/2 hours once a week for 10 weeks. Material covered includes but is not limited to:

• Our Old Testament roots
• The covenants
• The Trinity
• Salvation
• The early Christian church
• Our Methodist heritage
• Where youth can use their gifts in our local church.

Youth choose a mentor to work with them while they are completing the classes. Youth are also asked to attend a church committee meeting, participate in a mission-related or local church project, and optional visits to a Catholic and/or Jewish worship service.
