| | Mackey Chapel hosts a summer Vacation Bible School for all ages 3 to adult
from a Sunday evening to the Wednesday evening. Over the past two years
(1998-1999) we have had between 65 and 80 participants.

 | The theme for 1998 VBS was "THE STORY TELLING TREE" dealing with the
parables of Jesus. It was held from Sunday July 5 to Wednesday evening July 8, 1998. |
| We had a marvellous time sharing with 61 children and 20 adults from our
community. We had volunteer assistance from 6 members from Highland UMC and 2 from Asbury
UMC. |
| Mr Ken Mikesell, from Highland, drove one of Highland's vans to help load up kids from the
neighborhood who might otherwise not have been able to attend. During 1999,
Highland donated one of it's vans to Mackey Chapel to assist in the
follow-up work and our ongoing growth. |
