Mackey
Chapel Youth Raise $745.00
 | Five Mackey Youth, ranging in ages from 6 to 14 years,
recently raised a total of $745.00 for the Bishop's "Hope For The
Children of Africa" Fund. The challenge was issued to all youth groups
throughout the Annual Conference and the youth group that raised the largest
amount per child will be blessed by having the Bishop come to teach their
Sunday School class and the District Superintendent to provide refreshments.
In a children's message on the Parable of the Talents on March 5, 2000, Rev.
Neethling had given each youth the sum of $5.00 with the challenge to
multiply the amount as much as they could by Sunday, April 16. Shavedria Ray
(6 years old) raised a total of $505.00 by selling tickets for a cake! |
| The other youth participants were: Quan Farris, Rose
Willis, Deja Logan, Janet George, and John George. We are grateful for the
effort made by each participant. |

Mackey
Chapel United Methodist Church to get new pastor
| Rev. Curtis Hayes and his wife Dolly, from Aldersgate
United Methodist Church in Roswell, New Mexico will commence ministry as the
new pastor at the beginning of June, 2000. Rev. Hayes is replacing Rev.
Johann Neethling ("Coach") who has served the church since June
1997. |
| Rev. Neethling has been appointed to
serve the Estancia United Methodist Church in Estancia, New
Mexico. He and his family will be moving on June 6. Their new
address is P.O. Box 378, Estancia, NM 87016. Church phone:
505-384-5215 / Parsonage: 505-384-2710. Estancia
(click link to see map) is 50 miles east of Albuquerque. You
