Steve is glad to be serving Lake Oswego United Methodist Church after several years as a Superintendent and Assistant to the Bishop.  He celebrates the diversity of people who make up this dynamic community of faith with its strong programs of music, youth, outreach and Christian education.  Steve's strengths include preaching and teaching focused on sharing the Good News of Christ's love for all people.  In this our 150th year, Steve looks forward to developing new ways to welcome seekers, to celebrate God, and to serve our community.

Steve says, "Our hearts, our minds, and our doors are always open.  Come join us as we worship God, as we explore what it means to be faithful in today's world, and as we build honest relationships together in Christ."

Stacey Bernal, Christian Education and Youth Coordinator
E-mail: Stacey Bernal

As Christian Education Coordinator, Stacey ensures that all our churchgoers are spiritually enriched. She works with over 20 teachers who provide Sunday morning classes for ages three through adult. The age-appropriate curriculum inspires young minds to follow Jesus and prepares their hearts to serve God while keeping the children entertained. In the summer, she facilitates Vacation Bible School inviting children from the community. Stacey also helps coordinate adult education classes both on Sunday and weekday mornings as well as weekday evenings. Stacey believes that continuing to grow and learn in our faith journey is a vital part of spiritual life.

In her role as Youth Ministries Coordinator, Stacey recruits leadership and provides oversight for three youth groups for students from 4th through 12th grades: RAD (Radically Active Disciples) provides an opportunity for 4th through 6th graders to gather for both spiritual and social activities. The Junior and Senior High United Methodist Youth group meetings provide time for fellowship and lively discussions, which are centered on the concerns of today’s youth.
