SECRETARY’S REPORT - Mary Twitchell 
Mike/Diane S./carried: Motion to accept minutes as written:

FINANCIAL SECRETARY’S REPORT - Dianne Spillum - report is in packet.

TREASURER’S REPORT - Donna Rekstad – report is in packet.
Rose/Diane S/carried: Motion to accept the reports for audit.

MINISTER’S REPORT – Cathy reported that Rev. JoBeth Marshall will be starting August 15.

OLD BUSINESS

·        Facility Planning Committee/Capital Campaign – Diane S. reported that there is now a line item in the finance report

·        Inactive member follow-up: The Administrative Team went through list and made decisions on who to remove from the church membership list

·        Visitor packets- table

NEW BUSINESS

·        Welcoming JoBeth: consensus was to have coffee and cinnamon rolls this Sunday (Betz will make coffee) and then have a potluck on 9/14 which will also be Rally Sunday – Rose will put a note in the Uniter

COMMITTEE, TEAM AND TASK FORCE REPORTS

Finance – Bryan & Barbara

·        Verna Satter, Diane S and Donna R will serve on the Finance Committee. They would also like Margaret Defries to be on it as a staff representative.

·        The main goal of the team is to simplify the process, so that we can begin stewardship campaign in October. Cathy asked that they review the material for the stewardship campaign.

·        Bryan/Mary/carried: Motion to close out the mutual funds and put church investments (line 1020 & 1025) into interest bearing accounts in a local institution.

Worship Team - Joanie Bellig – Cathy said that the team hasn’t met, but Joanie has been lining up readers. Cathy would like to thank everyone who helped with worship this summer.

UCWA - Betty Anderson

·        bake sale earned $84

·        Circle starts meeting: September 10

·        The UCWA big cooler is missing – Cathy asked that a note be put in bulletin and Uniter.

Mission & Ministry - Mary Jean Stobb – Report was included in packet

Archival Team - Echo Kowalzek – When office was cleaned out, three old machines were found. Consensus was to ask historical society if they wanted the machines. The name plates will be available for people to pick up if they want them.

Building, Grounds & Equipment - Dyanne Olson –

·        Had a meeting before this meeting

·        Working to prioritize improvements and cleaning up of buildings and grounds. Have chosen to start with the little items first.

·        Cleanup day October 11. Start at 9 and work all day. Dyanne will put something in the bulletin and Uniter.

·        They will be encouraging people to adopt an area of the building or grounds. Plans must go before the B&G committee.

·        They are looking at requesting that the community memorial park be marked with a sign from the highway department.

PPRC - Rose Jacobson: Did not meet this month. Cathy suggested scheduling a meeting with JoBeth within the next couple of months.

Education - Dianne Spillum – Vacation Bible School with First Lutheran/Bethel was successful - 168 children total – 5 volunteers & ~12 children from 1st United

Outreach - Betz Tepley

·        Habitat 500 mile breakfast –

·        Paint-a-thon breakfast was small – 70 people

·        Collect $70 for school clothes for kids

·        Have quite a few school supplies

·        Home delivered meals 18th – 22nd

Youth Ministry Team - Jonathan Larson (written report distributed at meeting)

·        Trying to get a team going

·        Twins game Aug 19

·        Summer Sunday School program aimed at getting youth to think about the future of the church

·        Jan: PPRC – how often, what is the purpose of PPRC – Mike talked about how teams were supposed to define their own purposes.
