Stephen Ministries provides trained lay people for caring ministry to those in need. No problem is too small or insignificant to receive care. Are you new to the community, dealing with a job crisis, coping with illness or disability, facing life transitions such as marriage, birth, adoption, separation, or divorce, or just feeling lonely and depressed? A Stephen Minister is available to listen and to provide free confidential support. Are you interested in providing support to others? Stephen Ministers have a 2 year commitment, including 50 hours of training, meeting for support and supervision twice a month, and if matched with a care receiver, an average of 1 hour visit per week. You will learn how to provide quality, Christ-centered, confidential care to those in need. Matches between care givers and care receivers are made based upon needs, skills, and availability, and are of the same gender. For more information either about being matched with a Stephen Minister or becoming one, please call the church at 517-542-3366.
