New Sunday Summer Schedule Proposed In an effort to bring our church family closer together through worship and fellowship, representatives from the Worship and Education committees met recently to discuss a variety of options. From that meeting emerged an alternative Sunday worship schedule that is proposed as a trial for this summer. This schedule would feature the following:
In an effort to increase interaction among all groups in the church, Sunday School children would start their worship in the Fellowship Hall at 9:00 a.m. with an opening praise song and a children’s message. The children would then be escorted to their Sunday School classes. The time between services would allow for fellowship, more time for pastors to interact with the congregation, and would reduce the number of ushers, greeters, etc., needed on a given Sunday. The schedule also would be cost-effective, due to reduced use of air-conditioning and electricity. This schedule has not been adopted, only proposed as a summer trial. All options remain open and we are asking for your feedback by answering the following questions. Our goal is to examine all possibilities to help grow our church family and make our programs more meaningful for all involved. You may drop your responses in the boxes in the Fellowship Hall and the narthex, or mail your responses to the church. We would like to have all responses no later than May 10, 2009. Thank you in advance. What factors are important to you in a worship schedule this summer?
What are the positive aspects of the proposed summer schedule?
What are the negative aspects of the proposed summer schedule?
Is there an alternative schedule that you would propose?
Is there anything else you would like to tell us?
I normally attend the (please circle one): 8:30 a.m. service 9:40 a.m. service 11:00 a.m. service. |
