Bible and Life
Sunday School Class Lively discussion characterizes this class, as together participants discover fresh understandings on how biblical teaching can inform and inspire our day-to-day living. The Bible and Life Class invites you to join us beginning September 9, 2007, for an exploration of art and the Bible. Co-led by artist Hal Gomer and Bible teacher Nan Duerling, we will explore the birth, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus as seen through the eyes of artists who worked in various styles and historical periods. Our text, An Illustrated Life of Jesus ($15.00), includes images all found in the collection of The National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. We expect to take a class trip to the Gallery in January to view art that we have been studying. If you would like to participate, please let Nan know so that she can order a book for you.
