Neighborhood
Faith Based Housing - Neighborhood
House joined to form an ecumenical group with Catholic Urban Programs, Emerson Park
Development Corp., and The Family Center to form a faith-based |
| ecumenical housing
program. In the Summer of 1997 this group was responsible for enlisting hundreds of
volunteers to build four new homes in the community. This was a significant accomplishment
because few new homes have been built in the city over the past ten years. Then, in 1998,
this organization was`able to build another two homes. The Neighborhood Faith-Based
Housing Program hopes to continue its work to build and rehabilitate additional homes in
the East St. Louis community. |
