Homeless Sheltering Program

Our overflow homeless shelter program starts December 5, 2004.  We house up to ten adult homeless men and women.

This event takes place once a week on Monday evenings during the months of December 2004 and January 2005.  We provide a dinner, the makings for a lunch, and breakfast as well as shelter for the evening.  The meals are provided by friends and members of the church.  Two hosts stay overnight in the church building with our guests.

Sign-up sheets are on the bulletin board in Tyson Hall.  We still need hosts on several evenings.   Hosts arrive at about 7PM and retire after the evening meal clean-up and lunch preparation - which is about 9:30PM.  The morning arrives early at about 5AM with a wakeup call.  Breakfast follows soon thereafter.  The guests depart in a van around 6:30AM.  Hosts are able to get a decent night's sleep and still be able to go home and refresh before starting their normal day.
