Leesburg District Newsletter
July 2003
Dr. Terry Markins, District Superintendent
(Posted July 24, 2003)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Friends,
This Newsletter brings us another month closer to Charge
Conference Season. It is never too early to start preparing for Charge/Church
Conference. All the Charge Conference Forms are scheduled to be on-line
July 15th. However, there are some items that can be worked on even
now, such as budgeting and nominations. I feel a need to remind you
of this because last year we had to nominate officers for some of the churches
at the Charge Conference. This will not be acceptable this year as
I have allowed one hour for the Conference with just enough time between
conferences to get from one to the other. Remember, you as Pastor are
responsible for having all reports completed and a hard copy into the District
Office one week prior to your Conference.
Need a Business Administrator?
Larry Burris stopped by the office this week to talk
with me about the possibility of creating a circuit of up to three churches
who would share a Business Administrator. Not every church can afford
a full-time Business Administrator but this idea of a shared Administrator
just might work. If you are interested, give Larry a call at (407)
448-1087. Larry has served as Business Administrator at Sanlando United
Methodist Church. His wife Karen is Associate Pastor at Morrison Memorial
United Methodist Church.
